World Diabetes Day: Access to care key – Riverine Herald

Sunday, November 14, is World Diabetes Day, with this year’s theme “Access to Diabetes Care”.

The World Health Organisation reports about 422 million people worldwide have diabetes, with the majority living in low-and middle-income countries.

Almost 100 years after the first successful injection of insulin, it and other fundamental components of diabetes care continue to remain beyond the reach of many who need them.
